Which is to say there is a contract which we have signed and the seller has signed. Assuming the inspection goes well, we'll be closing on it a couple days before Christmas.

The picture is from the Ann Arbor Tax Website. It doesn't have the ramp any more, and instead it has a nice porch.
Here's the house's website.
And yes, the house is only two blocks south of where we live now. We're a wee bit closer to our old apartment.
Happy Happy.

Ever since we found out we were going to Procrastinator's Brawl and Ball,
aelkiss and I had been calling the event the Brawl and Bransle. Eventually it dawned on me that there ought to be a "Procrastinator's Bransle", so I told Aaron and he picked out the music and choreographed the piece.
The piece is Bransle VI by Gervaise. AA BB, but B has one fewer line than written. I like the music a lot because it also is sounds like it's procrastinating.
We need to choreograph some more bransles since there's some great bransle music out there. ^_^

At Wassail last year
magda_vogelsang,
aelkiss, and I did a reprise of our award-winning filk of Purcell's "Five Reasons". (The lyrics, alas, can't be printed here since we gave a solemn oath to never repeat them outside of Cynnabar.) In retaliation the Baron challenged us to compose a fight song for the Baronial fighters to sing as they charge into battle. A modern song was suggested, but we decided to take this challenge a step further. And so by Pennsic 38 there will be a Cynnabar March to the tune of the Playford Dance, Nonesuch.
But wait there's more.
We just purchased a Bretagne Bombard and a Renaissance Drum. So now Cynnabar has the minimum complement to form a marching band. I don't know if we'll be quite ready for this Pennsic, but we certainly will by 39. Of course, we'll have to see if the fighters are even interested in such a thing...
I'm particularly excited about the bombard. It's a double reed instrument and sounds like a sopranino shawm. I'll have wear ear-plugs to practice it indoors. This amuses me. In case you can't tell which instrument in the video is the bombard, it's the squeeky instrument that overpowers the bagpipes.
Hee!

Between The Knot and even worse The Plunge I'm sorely tempted to make a better wedding website. A website for couples who don't believe that "it's the industry standard" is a good reason to spend gobs of money on anything. A website for couples in which the groom doesn't automatically hate wedding planning. A website with a functional budget calculator...
I could do it. The only problem is that a year from now my wedding will have come and gone. Chances are I won't still want to put time and energy into maintaining a wedding planning website.

Today we visited a possible venue for teh wedding next year.

Cobblestone Farm, a Historic Farmhouse in Ann Arbor. It has just about everything we're looking for in a venue:
The one downside is you can hear the traffic from Packard loud and clear.
Here are some pictures of the inside:

We'll wait until my parents check it out before actually putting any money down.
It's exciting!

- Very nice dance floor
- Can comfortably seat 100 - 150 people and still have plenty of room for dancing
- Allows outside catering
- Not hideously expensive
- Nice atmosphere
- Pretty outdoor area for ceremony
- Plenty of parking

Three years ago today I was v. anxious about going to Bubble Tea with
aelkiss after swing dancing.
Today we're buying TV tables and going to Bubble Island for a commemorative drink. ^_^
In truth we did the real celebrating on Friday with Zingerman's Sandwiches, Cupcakes, and Swing Dancing.
Yay relationship!

My favorite number of the night was Paul and Storm's Nun Fight, inspired by a true story. Why did I like it so much... o lets see.
- Early music geekiness. (Teh plainchant.)
- Roman Catholicness
